You know that guy that rushes onto the train before everyone has had a chance to get off? Or that woman that’s talking way too loudly on her phone about something you could really care less about? Well, instead of thinking of all the ways you could dismember them if you weren’t a law-abiding, tax-paying citizen, now you can be proactive and passive aggressive!
To be frank, I think this is just about the best idea ever. You can get your very own set of 25 cards from Orange32here.
I’m sure by now all of you are familiar with the totally awesome mascots for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. I’ve been a fan of Meomi and all of their super, super adorable illustrations and animations for awhile, so it’s great to see them get this huge exposure. I’m probably a little biased here (1. because I love Meomi and 2. because I love Vancouver) but after doing a little bit of research on previous Olympics mascots, I think the 2010 Winter Games might just have the best bunch.
Which makes me think, well it must be incredibly hard to come up with a mascot for the Olympic games. Folks! This is how I feel today. I just met the lovely Stephen Fry at the wonderful Idlewild Books whereupon he signed not only my copy of Fry in America, but also my old, beat up copy of his autobiography, Moab Is My Washpot.
I, of course, acted far less like the suave, sophisticated New Yorker I know I am and a lot more like a pre-teen girl meeting the Jonas Brothers. They’re still a thing, right?
(I can’t recommend his books/audio books/tv shows/movies highly enough. The man is a genius! And affable to boot!)
Well, it only took me…no, I’m not even going to admit to how long my site has sat in the corner, gathering dust and cobwebs. Let’s just say it’s been far too long. But things are a-changing! Heck, we’re coming up on the close of a decade in a few weeks, how crazy is that?
So here’s the scoop: this is a blogfolio. Which means I’m going to upload some stuff from the greatest hits collection (in other words, some portfolio work) but I’m also going to be sharing all the cool stuff I come across in my internet expeditions. Sort of like in kindergarten when you did Show and Tell.
Rock on!
What’s it all about, Alfie?
Howdy! Antiswank is a blog/portfolio (blogfolio?) site run by me, Angel Lamke. I'm into static & dynamic design and am available for freelance (or full-time!) work in NYC. If you like what you see and want to give me some cash money to make things for you, drop me a line!
